

This is a brief paper focused on the legislation associated with the valuation of Registered Clubs in NSW. Specifically, the paper will deal with rules of operation, amalgamation, poker machine entitlements (PME) and a liquor licence comparison with Hotels.
Clubs exist under the provisions of the Registered Clubs Act 1976. The Responsible Minister is the Minister for Gaming and Racing and the Authority is the NSW Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing.
The Act contains requirements to be met by clubs (Section 10) as well as rules for their operation (Section 30). Amongst others, the following three (3) apply:-
